Well, Everything went swimmingly yesterday. Jenny and I and our mom drove to SeaTac Airport and picked up our WONDERFUL little puppy. He is too adorable for words. He is sweet and happy and well-adjusted and DARLING and healthy and SO charming. We couldn't believe how cute he was.
Jenny has had him named for almost the whole time we waited for him. His name is Winsy, and Winsome is his "real" name.
He really seems to love everyone he comes in any contact with; he's so happy and well-adjusted, and we thank you for that, along with his good health.
Wincy was VERY good on the ride home, and went to the bathroom in his litter box (with feline pine wood chips in itƚ like a good little puppy. He slept with each of us for the three-hour ride, never complaining or having an accident. We very soon realized that he loves to find a small, tight, snuggly place to go to sleep, most likely simulating the situation with his many litter mates. He had a little food and water on the way home as well.
At Jenny’s house he seemed to feel right at home very soon, and ate and drank water, slept in his little bed with his stuffed animal, slept in our arms, slept in a crevice in the leather couch, played with some toys, and even went outside in the grass.
Out there he loved the sights, sounds, and smells, and his ears perked up when he heard the sound of a dog or puppy barking or the sound of a bird. He’d stop in his tracks and listen. He seemed to enjoy the slight breeze and smell the air. He even pooped in the grass outside! He is really off to such a good start with all the potty training and we thank you for that.
The cutest thing ever, though, was when he had been in the grass for awhile and he started running and bouncing in the grass! It was adorable! He’d kind of bounce sideways and then forward in the grass, coming when we called him. He waddles so cutely and is such a plump little shape. He wags his (darling( tail a lot. He is clearly going to be a wonderful little dog and bring so much joy to all our lives, and especially Jenny.
I spoke with Jenny this morning to find out how his first night was. She started him in his crate beside her bed and he slept for a few hours. Then he started whimpering and then kind of wailing loudly in a shrill voice. She tried talking to him, even singing to him, and finally picked him up and snuggled him in her bed. He put himself above her pillow and close to the wall and slept the rest of the night! I really think animals tell us what they want, and we have only to listen and believe them, huh? She said he wanted to get up about 7 so she put him in his litter box; he didn’t go there, but did outside. That’s great. She said he was especially bouncy and happy outside and today.
He will meet more “kinfolk” today and have a lot of fun. He seems to have bonded to us already and Jenny is just thrilled with him. (Me too, and Mom too, and Grandpa too, and on and on...( The last I talked with Jenny this morning she was ready for a nap, and so was Winsy. He will be a sweet little napping buddy, that seems for sure.
Thank you so much, Roxanne, for raising this little puppy with such care and love. He will clearly bring so much joy to all he comes in contact with, and has already started making people’s lives happier and richer. You can rest assured he will have a wonderful life and be cared for and loved very much, always.
